Rural Economy Development Project
INFORMATION ABOUT THE RURAL ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Republic of Tajikistan has received US$30 million financing from the International Development Association of the World Bank Group for the implementation of the Rural Economy Development Project.
The project's development objective is to increase the living standard of the local population in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast and Khatlon region through development of tourism and agribusiness.
The project is structured according to the following four components:
Component I. Improvement of public infrastructure for the development of agribusiness and tourism.
Component II. Support of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs in agribusiness, tourism and related sectors.
Component III. Capacity building and business development services for tourism, agribusiness and related sectors.
Component IV. Project coordination and implementation, as well as Grant program management.
