GUIDE FOR GUIDES NAMED "FROM KHATLON TO BADAKHSHAN"
In order to develop the tourism sector, improve the quality of services, study natural, historical and cultural sites, within the framework of the "Development of rural economy" project, the University of Central Asia in the city of Khorog has developed a Guide for guides named "From Khatlon to Badakhshan"
This guide highlights the attractiveness, natural properties, architectural and historical details of the places. Companion material includes legends, area maps, site locations, and site photographs.
A guidebook for guides was developed on the basis of scientific sources, legend, folklore, and archeology associated with 20 sites in the Khatlon region and 21 monuments in GBAO, in Tajik, Russian, and English and submitted to the Committee for Tourism Development for use.
This guide has been developed for tourist guides to correctly represent the tourism potential of the country when providing services to local and foreign tourists.
The heritage sites covered in this guide are located in Khatlon and GBAO. The list of these objects was approved by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan. A grant for this research project was provided by the International Development Association of the World Bank Group (WBG) for the implementation of the Rural Economy Development Project (REDP). The project was implemented by the University of Central Asia (UCA) in partnership with experts from universities and institutes.
